After he left until I came to the states in 1946. We were married then. You know they used to say “Home Alive in ‘45” so I couldn’t come right away because shipping was short. There were a lot of marriages to American’s during the war. My mother was a war bride too- she met a New Zealander during the first war and she grew up in London so in a way it was history repeating itself.
