A nonprofit gym with a purpose.
It's called Purpose Boxing Club, and it's in Wenatchee.
The gym is meant to be a positive space for local youth, with a full size boxing ring and 12 punching bags.
It's a place for young athletes to build discipline, confidence and community.
It's closely tied to ‘Community for the Advancements of Family Education, or CAFE.
Francisco Jimenez is a recovery navigator and youth program coordinator.
“Boxing is a great alternative and they love it.
So we promote not only physical fitness and health but also mental stability as well.” Purpose Boxing Club offers a program for kids whose families may not be able to afford traditional boxing classes, and that is paid for through CAFE.
