This time, elections focused.
We have Diane Molleson, the president of the League of Women Voters of Benton and Franklin counties, with us today.
Diane, thank you so much for spending some time with us.
Thank you for having me.
Well, Diane, first of all, tell me a little bit about the League of Women Voters of Benton and Franklin counties.
So our local League, for the elections, we're actually really busy right now preparing for the candidate forums.
We have about 17 races we're covering.
Everything from, Benton County Commissioner to, you know, legislative districts.
There's a lot of new legislative districts because of the redistricting they did.
Lots of moving parts.
And NWPB is proud to partner with you folks on those candidate forums, and there have been a ton of good ones and big ones too, statewide races.
Why are you guys focusing so much on that here at the local League?
Well, you know, it's a big election year and the president of the state League, Mary Coltrane wanted to make sure there were statewide debates, most of them are on the west side, but she wanted to bring a few on the to the east side.
So we had the Attorney General debate in June, and the three candidates came for the primary election.
And if anyone missed any of those, no worries.
You can find all of those candidate forums on YouTube.
Diane, you do a lot more than just candidate forums.
You make sure voters in this area are really prepared for when they get their ballot.
How do you do that?
Well, we do have an online voting guide...
So let me give you the address or the website for that.
It is Vote411.org.
And what they do is they give all the candidates running questions and the candidates answer those questions and they're posted online.
And you're actually, you know, hearing what the candidates have to say.
Perfect.
Diane, thank you so much for your time.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
No, I just want to make sure people vote in all the elections, not just in the presidential election, but pay attention to the primaries, pay attention to local school boards and vote.
Perfect.
Wonderful.
Well, thank you so much, Diane.
