This time we have the pleasure of Abbey Cameron joining us.
She is the CEO of Three Rivers Community Foundation.
Abbey, thank you so much for being here.
Thank you, Tracci, very happy to be here.
Well, first of all, tell us what a community foundation is.
What do you guys do?
Sure.
A community foundation exists to build a permanent endowment to support the area that it serves.
So for Three Rivers Community Foundation, that is Benton and Franklin Counties.
And we are here to work with donors to leave a legacy that's going to support our area now and into the future and to use that legacy to support our nonprofit community in all of their wonderful work in missions that they're looking to fulfill.
You guys are busy, too, making a big impact in these communities.
Now, NWPB has been looking at mission statements a lot lately, so of course I read yours on your website.
It says, “As your local community foundation, we create opportunities for perpetual charitable giving in Benton and Franklin counties to support nonprofits now and in the future.
” I like in the future part.
What does that mean to you guys?
So, we really approach things with the thought of permanence.
So the dollars that we're pulling together from the donors and fund holders that we work with are invested so they grow.
Reinvested so that those dollars really kind of work and using the proceeds and the growth of that as it compounds over time to be able to fund really critical community issues.
So we're in it for the long haul, and that means we can be here for the long haul to support community needs as they change over time.
All right.
Thank you, Abbey.
Now, what are some of the, real quick, some of the organizations you work with?
Oh, gosh.
We fund... We're very broad in our grantmaking, and that's on purpose.
We fund everything from human services, like food insecurity and safety to animals and the arts.
And how can people find out more about you?
Sure.
You can find us online at 3RCF.org for Three Rivers Community Foundation.
We're also on Facebook.
It's a great way to kind of know about what's coming up.
We do a grantmaking cycle that opens up every August.
Overall, every year, we're giving out between $750,000 to $1 Million funneling through our organization back out right here locally.
Doing big things.
Thank you so much for your time, Abbey.
Thank you.
